So often I hear something along these lines: "Oh yes, I tried (insert paleo/vegan/low-sugar/any diet here) for a week and it didn't work for me."
Now, right out of the gate let me just say that I believe there is no one-size-fits-all diet OR workout type for everyone. We are all unique in our heritage, our genetic makeup, our preferences, and our current goals. We will have to try things to see what does work for all those parts of us.
It's not the label of the diet or the name of the gym that matters. It's our dedication to our goals, our commitment to the work, that matters.
When you are seeking better health, give your body a chance to really feel what you are trying. To make adjustments, and to adapt. We certainly didn't get into the current health mess we're in by eating that one super-sized order of fries and feeling our jeans immediately get tight... What makes us think any attempt to lose fat, gain muscle, or alleviate symptoms of ill health will yield us lightning-fast results?
Consistency and dedication - to yourself, and your goals. You MUST make a big investment in these two things in order to accomplish anything in health and fitness. You cannot try anything for a few days and give it up when your pants don't fit better in that short time. Quick fixes don't work long term. Crash diets are meant to crash. Easy workouts will not get you there. There is no simple way.
And that's the best part - your efforts will be reflected in your results. Go for the best, give it your patience, your commitment, your all. And you will be unstoppable!
